MCAT TEST COMPLETED!!!

Well...I must say that studying for the MCAT was rough. :( I have never studied (at the last minute) for anything this hard in my life! Smhhh to be honest I did not study as hard as I should have in the beginning. It wasn't until the the last month or so that I gave it my all (please believe that my MCAT score will reflect my lazy ass actions). My original test date was on June 17th and then I changed it to June 30th out of not feeling prepared. When I woke up the morning of my test, I did not feel ready but I said to myself, "Kay you've waited all your life for this moment (including a long ass 6 years of college), go ahead and take the test and give it your all" and that's what I did!

TESTING CENTER & CHECK IN:
When I first walked into the testing center the chairs were filled with students and also some adults that were taking certification tests as well. At first I thought that this was cool but during the test not so much. For whatever reason the testing center mixed us all together. Our test (MCAT test takers) with breaks was 7 1/2 hours and their test was 4 hours so think about it like this...the door was constantly opening and closing due to different break times and of course I was in the station closest to the damn door! The testing facility was nice but the staff was loud at times and a little unprofessional to say the least (too much info to type)! Ughhhh... anywho, when you first check in you show your ID and then they check you off the attendance list and provide you with a locker key. This is where all of your belongings go including your lunch (yup...no damn refrigerator). Next they called our names and then they took us to another room. This is where you are check in again. During this check in process, they not only wand you down with a held metal detector, the also finger print you and this happened every time you left the testing room for a break and when you reentered. It got to the point that I did not take my final break because the check in and out process was too much! Oh and you had to physically sign in and out as well (sheesh). During the breaks I ran into the same two test takers and like clock work we all discussed our thoughts about what we just endured LOLOL! Annndd let me just say that I wasn't the only one saying WTFFFF!!

MCAT TEST:
Smmmhhh this test was nothing like the aamc practice test. This test did not have the amount of bio chem that I thought it was going to have. I studied my ass off on bio chem since everyone said that the test was filled with it. I guess the test that I/we had that day did not! The chemistry and physics section had more physics than expected and more calculations than I have ever seen on any of the practice tests (which kicked my ass). The passages in all 4 sections were a bitch!! It was an abundance of long and dense reading material and this included the cars section. Some of the passages were so bad that I had to read them 2 and 3 times to try and decipher what they were saying. Smhhhh the bio/bio chem section was better. It was filled with immunology, genetics and enzyme kinetics so study up. Out of all of the sections, I thought that the psych section was going to be the section that pulled me through... NOT!!! The shit was not only dry ass material but the questions were different and they used a lot of terms that I do not recall seeing on the practice tests (AAMC and KAPLAN) or in the section bank questions (ughhhh). Overall, this was a shitty test and I am sure that I will have to take it again. To be honest, I refuse to wait another cycle to apply so that being said... if my score sucks and I do not obtain any interviews in the US, I will retake the test in January and apply to the Caribbean for 2018 admission.

  1. HI Lady!!!! Congrats on getting it out of the way. And I hope you did better than how you feel. That test plays with you mind so yo never know. I suffer from crazy migraines and the MCAT gave me even worse headaches. Do what you feel is best for you but please submit your application ASAP, dont let feeling like you did bad on the test keep you from your potential blessing of getting into school! I think you did good, go relax, get a drink, food or whatever comforts you and then start on your AMCAS/AACOMAS LOL (if you have already)

  2. Hey my friend! Thank yo so much!! I definitely felt like I just accomplished something major after I walked out of the testing center. To be honest I pray that I never have to take it again but we will see... (ughhh) Hopefully your kinds words will bring me good luck! During my test the darn door kept opening and closing. Nothing like a migraine but definitely a major distraction mixed with a minor headache! :( Depending on my score, over the next week I am going to submit my application. Both AMCAS/AACOMAS are ready to go. Just missing my MCAT score... :)

Now you know I have already had a ridiculous amount of drinks already LOLOL!
